  • Heya all, as this forum looks kind of messy with all that posts that a lot of old topics probably is not valid anymore, so I decided to delete old topics to make easier to search for offers instead of scrolling through dozen pages, where some open offers might get lost.

So instead of asking in every old topic I will just simply delete every topic that is inactive in more than 2 months and it not linking to a list of spirits on the user profile. Also every topic that is not from a registered user and don't have contact information will be deleted regardless of age.

Will message some users if it will be unclear to me if the topic is inactive but otherwise all old topics will be removed unless someone send me a message with link to the topic that they still using that are old.

After that I plan to put a few rules to make browsing this forum easier as well as keep it clean so if you got any suggestion feel free to tell me.

Edit - To make thing easier i put my post in main topic as well

Ok got a few ideas that I want to put while cleaning this forum that I want to know your opinion:

First, I want to make posting a trading mostly for registered users, non-registered users would still be able to post an offer

Secondly, I would like to ask people who trade a lot to do a list of spirits they want to trade/get on their profile – this is linked to my next point. As it’s easier for person to use his/her wall.

Third point I want to mention is to create one topic where I want to put links to people profiles that trading a lot for people to easy find them (sticky topic). Will plan to put table with spirits that are available for trade and people are looking for with links to those people only those that will be linked). In that topic only comments allowed will be a request to add someone or to update someone list. If there will be many constant traders I might make a wika page with that list. – Will try to update list regularly although if the list will be big users will be required to post changes themselves

Fourth point is because of point above new trading topics will be for people who trade occasionally or got just one or so spirits for trade or looking for.

And last point, I plan of introducing a universal topic name that everyone should be using while creating a new topic as long topics are not fully displayed. I was thinking for one spirit it will be “[LF] xxx” or “[FT] xxx” but I’m not sure for people who got more than one spirit, was thinking of putting person name and trading list e.g. “SaiZaro trading list”

Ok that all I got to say about trading forum, got other ideas that I want to implement but for now I want to sort out trading.

    • Making it Highlit again so people can read new update.

    • Those are some great ideas. Most people probably don't look further than page 1 so topic creators end up bumping all the time. I think a sticky topic with active traders will help until the list gets too full.

        Loading editor
    • well if that topic will became popular and people will be using that I might create a Trading page later down the line on Wikia page instead of keeping that in trading forum, though that still need a bit more thinking to not make it unfair to smaller traders

    • 1- Yes. Accountability is always good.

      2- Wall clutter.

3&4- I don't think funneling this way will optimize efficiency for either type of trader. If anything, have stickied topics for, say, a line of certain popular spirits (or better yet, event-centric topics) and leave it to the market to regulate itself. People can post replies with specific offers trading/seeking the stickied spirit(s) and get replies on their walls.

5- should be standard. When I joined this seemed to be the case but it's fallen out of favor sadly with everyone but the guys using their original topics it seems.

    • I'm ok with whatever except maybe 3,4.

Will just wait for public confirmation.

That a nice list though I would add icons but its easy to read as it is, I will be checking most traders profile when I will be deleting old posts next week, when I done that I will post a template either here or in the rules for people to copy if they would like to use it.

    • For those that are interested you can find a sample trading table in Thread:5555. It is not required but it can help keep things nice and organized. There are also icons you can use to mark adv spirits and rarities. If you have questions or would like help, you can leave a message on my wall, and I will try to do what I can.

Another example: My old trade list

    • ^^That's so old mate. Do we still need to complete those tradeS? :P

@Admin - not sure if this was specified but putting in trading times would be good (UTC based) as we are from all over the world so best to have an idea when the person will be around.

      Here's my old Tent : http://destinyofspirits.wikia.com/wiki/Thread:6901

    • Hmm... I see that points 3 & 4 are probably won't work.

Reading all yours comments i started to think that It might be an good ideato revamp rules for trading and then stick by those rules instead of having like general rules as it is now.

there is a basic explanation Thread:5555 I will probably change bits a bit to make it look nicer but basic table structure is in that threat

    • The one bothersome part of using the tables for me has been editing with symbols. Call it lazy, but when you're moving a lot of spirits in and out of them editing in source becomes mindnumbingly tedious. I've resorted to forgoing symbols entirely and just substituting with a/e as a prefix to indicate Advanced Summon/Event and then the rarity in plain text. Once you have the table already it's a simple matter of making changes in visual.

    • Tables are a matter of preference, I can't speak for SaiZaro but I am not going to make people use them. I have made a number of tables so I know how tedious it can be, even using copy/paste. But some guidelines for consistency would help the trades.

    • Deleting old topics will take some time (as there is nearly 400 pages of threats) so in the meanwhile if someone got any suggestion for new ruleset for trading board feel free to post it here, I will work on new rules once I clean up all old topics.

And Alyran, I wont force using tables though I would recommend it, but I will force to provide all nescessary information needed as I notice while deleting topics that not everyone posts those information.

    • Another note: If you wish to upload pictures, please use a screenshot, do NOT take a picture of your vita. The picture is lower quality and harder to read. You take a screenshot by pressing the PS button and START button together. Your screen will flash and the screen will be in your photos.
